Some of the best moments spent during the summer are the ones spent on Holiday, and if your reading this blog you most likely have a little furbaby that you have to consider when planning these trips. Wither your considering a lavious trip to St. Tropez or a long weekend cross country to visit your family, you must make sure that where ever you decide to stay, pets are not only accepted, but welcomed.
Many of the top Hotels today go to great lengths to make sure not only you, but your pets as well are comfortable from the moment you both check in.
My personal favorite are the Kimpton Hotels. With hotels in major cities throughout the US and British Columbia they are not only pet friendly but extremely convenient. Book your next trip today at www.kimptonhoteles.com and don’t forget to tell them who sent ya!

Lots of Kisses,
There’s only one way to celebrate the summer season and thats the pUPscale way!
Last night I got to thinking about puppy parties. Frankie C.’s birthday is right around the corner (hint, hint: Aug 10th) and its a must that we celebrate! I have been brainstorm and trying to come up with all kinds of ideas for puppy themed parties and Google.com, as always has been a big help. So far my favorite theme by far is “A midsummer pUPs dream” -a summer soiree, dreamed up by yours truly. 😉
Below are a few themes to inspire you so that you can plan you very own paw-rty for your pUP:
- “Pick of the litter” Birthday Party– to celebrate your pups special day
- Puppy Shower– to introduce you new little furbabies to the world
- Bark Mitzvahs– for Jewish dogs coming of age
- Bark-be-que– to celebrate the summer months American style
- Whine and Cheese Party– a perfect pUPscale event
- Pampering and Pet-icures– to spoil both you and your pup
- and my personal favorite…Midsummer pUPs Dream-A summer soiree– Shakespeare inspired and sure to be paws-itively pUPscale!
Once you have your theme set check out cesar ® how to throw a divine doggie dinner party or perfect puppy parties by Purina. There you will find all kinds of useful information to ensure your event is a hit!
Don’t forget the essentials:
- A guest list including you favorite pups and pals
- Super cute invites to match your theme
- A color scheme is always nice but not completely necessary
- Plan a menu both pup and people friendly
- Location, location, location!
- Fun activities to keep everyone entertained
- Favors to take home
- And you must not forget an i-tunes play list, a requirement for any great party!
Now get out there and start planning your own pUPscale party! Don’t forget to send pics when you do. Frankie and I LOVE seeing other pUPs “livin’ the pUPscale life”.
Lots of Kisses,
This past week Project Runway kicked off yet another season. While I was excited to see Austin Scarlet return I was a little disappointed in the new talent this year as a whole. For starters were was the creativity… they had to use the grocery store for their resources and inspiration and 90% of them took the easy way out by using fabric based products. I’m sure Austin was far from impressed, seeing as how he made his entire dress from corn husk in Season 1, basically setting a standard for all seasons to come.
Then there’s the writers/producers of the show, are they seriously that desperate for new ideas that they have to not only bring back a previous designer but also the exact same challenge they had for their very first season. Someone get PR some new writers and fast! But while were bringing back old challenges how about revisiting the “designers best friend” challenge from Season 3. Remember all of the cute little pups running around! Such great exposure for doggy fashion if you ask me… if Tim approves, it must be good 😉
Check out the video below of the fashions seen during that Season 3, the “designers best friend” challenge.
Lots of Kisses,
Yes, you heard me right, the pet industry has grown so much over the past few years that they actually have a PFW (Pet Fashion Week) at the end of August in NYC. PFW serves not only as a trade show for buyers to see whats hot for the coming season, but also serves as a platform to showcase all of the new and emerging designers within the pet industry. That’s right designers!!! This industry has become so big that honestly I didn’t even realize how much talent is really out there. I think it so amazing that designers of doggy fashion are now getting the recognition they deserve! In fact FIT (One of the best fashion colleges in America) now offers classes specifically in Pet Fashion, which I think shows how important this industry really is. **more on FIT pet fashion classes, coming soon**
This year there are four special events being featured at PFW, which runs Aug. 23-24th 2008…
PFW started in Fall ’06 and this past year actually produced “The Tokyo Project” which was a huge success. In Feb 2009 they will introduce their 1st Spring show, I can hardly wait!!!
The old saying goes “its gone to the dogs”, well I say thank God, now our pups can finally be as fabulous as we are!
Don’t worry, I know most of you wont be able to make it to New York for PFW but I will personally make sure to bring you the exclusive behind the scenes peek into the pUPscale world of the pet fashion industry. If you do happen to be lucky enough to make it here, well then…see ya at “the tents” 🙂
Lots of Kisses,
